Emily Richardson, a clinical instructor of nursing and team member of the Office of Women and Children’s Health, was awarded a grant from the University of Arkansas Women’s Giving Circle to fund her project, Adolescent Menstrual Education and Needs (AMEN), at its fall 2024 voting event. AMEN aims to increase parental-child communication around menstrual, reproductive and sexual health using exploratory focus groups of parents/guardians in Arkansas to better understand parental barriers and strengths to educating their children on menstrual health.
